On Saturday, September 12, 2015 the Valley Fire started on Cobb Mountain and quickly became an inferno that destroyed everything in it's path - homes, cars, businesses and the forest. The lives of so many families have been changed forever.

On Monday, September 14th, the Lakeport Rotary Club's President, Jennifer Strong, opened an account for the purpose of collecting funds for the fire victims and to help rebuild our communities lost in the Valley Fire, and the Rocky and Jerusalem Fires. These Fires have burned over 170,000 acres in Lake County.

The outpouring of support from communities and organizations all over the state has been overwhelming! Jennifer Strong and her staff took on the task of collecting and itemizing all of the donated funds and answering questions from other Rotary Clubs, Organizations and the public.

The Lakeport Rotary Club quickly joined forces with the other Lake County Rotary Clubs, consisting of Middletown, Clearlake and Kelseyville and formed the LARCA (Lake Area Rotary Club Association) Fire Relief Committee. All of the Lake County Rotary Clubs are intimately involved in supporting their communities and understand the needs of each community affected by the fires.

The LARCA (Lake Area Rotary Club Assosiation) Fire Relief Fund has a broad representation of all 4 clubs with a wide variety of professions and expertise to help in the rebuilding of our devastated communities.
