Our Senior Centers prior to the COVID-19 pandemic were serving approximately 500 Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors daily, in addition to several hundred more that dined at one of the four Senior Centers in Lake County. With the closing of the Center’s dining rooms, daily home deliveries increased to approximately 800 the week of March 16th following State, County and City “shelter in place” mandates. It is expected to increase an additional 25% the beginning of week 2 and ultimately possibly more than double over the coming weeks. Our Senior Centers exist on limited funding from the Area Agency on Aging and individual fundraising efforts. With the Senior Centers being closed due to COVID-19, these fundraising efforts have all but ceased while costs are increasing exponentially. They cannot continue to operate without our help!

Locally owned small businesses are the backbone of our Lake County economy. They are also our family, friends and neighbors. LARCA Fire Relief Fund was originally formed with one of its primary goals to help these businesses survive the devastating wildfires that impacted our county and region. We are asking that you again help support them by buying their products and using their services if they are an essential business remaining open. If they have been mandated to close during the pandemic, many will need financial assistance to survive and to resume sales and services when they do reopen.
